All schools in Queensland are committed to providing safe and supportive learning environments for all students which address their educational needs.

Tin Can Bay P-10 State School attendance policy aims to ensure all students are able to achieve the Tin Can Bay P-10 State School three agreements, in particular, Be a Learner.

The policy is key to achieving our school's Explicit Improvement Agenda - the TCB 3.

Tin Can Bay P-10 State School expects:

  • All students to attend every school day unless the student has a reasonable excuse as defined under the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006.
  • All absences to be explained on the next day that the student returns to school following absence or beforehand if an absence is known to be going to occur.

Our Targets for Attendance are:

  • 91% average attendance or better
  • more than 40% of students with better than 95% attendance
